Jake Ervin Jonathan Go

MANAGING PARTNER, SPRINGBOARD PHILIPPINES & PROFESSOR, DE LA SALLE UNIVERSITY

Jake has been exposed to the world of technology at a young age. Games and other early tech products were his initial motivations in getting into computer studies. He took up computer science in De La Salle University – Manila. Jumped into an outsourcing company where he climbed the leadership ladder within a year immediately after he graduated. From a developer going into management roles in his first job, he wanted to explore more impactful challenges. He explored the Philippine startup scene where he got inspired to start his own company after acquiring experience and knowledge from his mentors in the field. He took his masterals at Ateneo de Manila University – Graduate School of Business. This was almost simultaneous with starting Springboard. Jake was also invited back to De La University – Manila to become one of the prominent professors for the Decision Sciences and Innovation department under the Ramon V. del Rosario – College of Business to share his expertise on his entrepreneurship journey. Jake has also invested in a couple of startups, and is part of a couple of groups with regards to startup investing. Groups such as Philippine Venture Capital Group and Manila Angels Investor Network among others.

Jake continues to push for outsourcing in the country, specifically for shared services digital marketing, HR outsourcing, technology and customer service through Springboard. For him, Philippines is still in the best position to win businesses due to Filipinos’ commitment to hard work, but without proper upskilling and training, it will be easy to get left behind. Education is also very close to his heart. He looks to bring his unorthodox approach to teaching to De La Salle University students, the next generation of leaders of the Philippines. He spoke in a couple of events also to help push for the startup community building in the country and looks to push education to make it more holistic and practical.

Tristan Archie Ong

MANAGING PARTNER, SPRINGBOARD PHILIPPINES

Tristan had his undergraduate studies focused on Labor Economics and Business Management, and has, early on imbibed continuous study and research on labor arbitrage, labor migration and wrote dissertations intensively on OFW remittance effect on the Philippine economy. Now he has set his attention on the Business Process Outsourcing effect as the close second top contributor to the Philippine growth miracle and has invested heavily on businesses that involve Outsourcing, Offshoring, Augmentation, and On-demand solutions as dictated by the market and globalization. He is currently involved with notable organizations in the Philippines who support the outsourcing and human capital such as Philippine Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA), Information Technology and Business Process Outsourcing Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and has appeared in numerous news articles and business news broadcasts encouraging startups and employment of Filipinos.

As such Tristan has dedicated his passion for the outsourcing industry. He believes that almost every industry has a form of outsourcing one way or another. In the pursuit of efficiency and maximization of resources it is inevitable that we outsource because we can’t do it all or it might be inefficient to do so. Name one company that does every part of their business processes or supply chain at an end-to-end manner and you will realize that outsourcing exists in all industries and some even unlikely places like Human Resources and Talent Acquisition. Signs that you have a good business is: if there are problem(s) that are unmet or unsolved. It is the same for outsourcing, just as businesses find ways to a solution to corner a market and maximize gains, outsourcing also seeks to find the best solutions for businesses while also earning from the opportunity. The closest thing to a win-win solution or Pareto Optimality.

Given the unique position that Philippine has because of the abundant talent and lower costs of living, the Call Center, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry managed to flourish and has even brought the Philippines quickly as an emerging contender for Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) capital of the world. This prompted the creation of Springboard as both representing a launching point of the founders, symbolically, and the starting point of the careers for the people that Springboard has successfully placed and endorsed to the BPO sector. Since then Springboard has taken on outsourcing verticals in Digital Marketing, Web Development, App and Software Development, Staff Leasing, Staff Augmentation, Retained Executive Search and Contingency based Placement Services. Springboard is continuously growing and learning with the latest in outsourcing and industry.
