This pandemic really hit the Philippines hard. Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are all struggling. During the start of ECQ last March 2020, a lot of businesses quickly shifted to digital marketing. Without any thought, they just invested money on boosting one post after the other. For instance, my entrepreneur friend told me she spent heavily on ads while on lockdown last year. As a result, all she got was more likes and no sales. Is your company experiencing the same? Here are some red flags you might be doing:

You are doing it wrong.

Most businesses suffer because they don’t know how to execute a good marketing campaign.  Did you know that most businesses don’t even have a website? To add to that, they don’t even have a Facebook page! I also often see brand pages with their latest posts dating back to 2019. It is so important to be up to date with your consumers. I think a lot of entrepreneurs are not even aware that this basic mistake hurts the brand a lot.

You’re not putting enough effort.

As they say, if you’re not on Facebook, do you even really exist? Just being online is never enough.  It will not magically increase your online traffic. You need to put in the effort and actually spend for digital ads. How you spend on these ads are also tricky. It’s not just as simple as clicking boost for your post! Most digital marketers have certifications to back up their skill so best to put someone qualified on top of it.

You’re not asking for help.

Most Filipinos make the mistake of being thrifty when it comes to marketing. They insist that doing online ads is easy and that it can be executed by anyone. If you are not familiar, I highly suggest to let an expert handle it for you. By doing so, it saves you time and effort altogether.
